Walk-ins

Many visitors to our community have sought medical help from the Primary Care Department of Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre this season. Area businesses and families have patrons and guests who may need care while they are in our area. We realize that there are no other health care providers in our immediate area. In a life threatening emergency at any time, call 9-1-1. The CHC is not a walk-in clinic, however, we do wish to serve the visitors to our community if we are able based on the availability of our practitioners. Those needing urgent but non-emergent medical attention Monday-Friday (who can’t access their own family doctor) are advised to phone the CHC for the best advice. The request will be triaged and the best time and place for treatment will be determined.

The telephone number to medical reception at the CHC is 519-238-2362.

We have a walk-in clinic each Saturday morning. Patients who can’t access their family doctor may arrive between 9 am and 11:30 am to be seen by a physician or nurse practitioner.

The patient will need their valid Ontario or Provincial Health Card. U.S. or Foreign visitors will be asked to pay cash for their visit. They will be given an itemized receipt that they may be able to use to claim expenses from their insurance company. We do not have a debit nor credit card machine, so they should stop at the bank machine first if they need to do so. In addition, the South Huron Medical Centre in Exeter has a Walk-In Clinic Mon-Fri 4 p.m. –6:45 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday & Holidays 11 a.m. – 1:45 pm. Their phone number is 519-235-3343
