In 1971 the first medical centre building was built in Grand Bend on Gill Road. A small number of Doctors, RNs and Medical Office Assistants took care of village residents and visitors in that office until the changeover to the CHC model in August of 1999.
The CHC brought the addition of a physiotherapist, health promoter, social worker, dietitian and diabetes program. It was soon evident that we had outgrown our space and our new building on Main St. was opened in the spring of 2004.
Today the Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre is a bustling place where clients can access their Primary Health Care needs ~ to help cure what ails them ~ or Health Promotion to prevent illness from occurring.
